About 20 people gathered in downtown St. John's Saturday to raise awareness about what they call the city's housing crisis.
The group — St. John's Citizens For Affordable Housing — says many in the city are struggling to keep a roof over their heads.
Erin Piatt says the affordability of housing is a major concern in St. John's.
"What we're trying to do is to give ... the public an opportunity to share their voices about their experience, and to have that be out be there in a public way," Piatt said.
The so-called Lanterns for Housing demonstration was held in front of Scotia Centre on Water Street.
A display of lanterns had housing facts and personal stories printed on them.
