A person driving alone on the Trans-Canada Highway was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash that may be linked to poor weather.

RCMP said officers from three detachments were called to the scene of the crash, which happened outside Springdale.

"The RCMP are unsure if speed or road conditions were a factor in this tragedy," the RCMP said in a statement, although the police noted that roads were slippery and visibility was low in the area at the time.

Poor weather was also blamed for an accident that happened Tuesday afternoon near Holyrood.
