Crews are battling a forest fire in the community of Nicky's Nose Cove, north of Springdale.
RCMP say a shed fire broke out shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, but high winds caused it to spread to an adjacent house.
Both the shed and house were destroyed.
The fire also spread to woods behind the shed, sparking the forest fire that crews were still battling late Tuesday.
Firefighters from the nearby communities of Harry's Harbour and King's Point were being assisted by a crew from the Department of Natural Resources, and a water bomber.
Power has been cut in the area and Bell Aliant says both landline and cell service has been disrupted by the fire.
Police said there were no injuries, and no immediate risk to other property.
