The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary's Child Abuse Sexual Assault Unit is seeking the public's help, in identifying the suspect in connection to a sexual assault that occurred in St. John's on Saturday night.

Around 8 p.m., police responded to the area of the Fluvarium, near Long Pond.

The assault occurred between 7:30 and 8 p.m.

RNC caution that the male suspect has not been apprehended.

He is described as being possibly in his 30's, about six feet tall with an average build and dark hair.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was believed to be wearing a dark baseball cap, jeans and a dark hoodie.

Anyone who might have information is asked to contact police.
