Serious injuries involved in downtown St. John's fight

Two men were taken to hospital after an early morning brawl in downtown St. John's.

Two men were taken to hospital after an early morning brawl in downtown St. John's.

Members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a fight on New Gower Street across from Mile One Centre around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon their arrival, three men, believed to be in their late 20's or early 30's, were fighting.

Two of the men were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.

The RNC's Forensic Services is still investigating. 

Meanwhile, RNC in Corner Brook are investigating a fight that started outside a nightclub early Saturday morning.

Police received a report of a man holding a knife to another man in a parking lot.

The suspect, who was unknown to the victim, was last seen in the Valley Mall parking lot and fled towards Mount Bernard Avenue before police arrived. 

The victim was not injured.

Police are continuing their investigation and are looking for a man believed to be about 35 years of age, five-feet-five-inches tall with a dark beard and glasses.
