The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said a woman reported being mugged by a man around 2:15 a.m. Friday, in the area of Broadway and Herald Avenue.

It's the same area where an 82-year-old woman was mugged earlier this week.

In Friday morning's case, the 44-year-old woman who was mugged was not injured. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie.

The RNC said the suspect was positively identified, as the complainant and suspect are well known to one another.

Police said they are confident there are no concerns for public safety.

The RNC said no arrests have yet been made in the second case.

On Thursday, Veronica Ann Park, 37, appeared in court for mugging a woman late Tuesday night. The victim, who had just left a bar on Broadway with winnings from a video lottery terminal, suffered a fracture to one of her arms when she was pushed to the ground.
