Police in Corner Brook are looking for information from the public in connection with an armed robbery on Monday night.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said a man with a knife held up the Corner Market convenience store on O'Connell Drive at about 11 p.m. on Monday.

RNC Const. Scott Mosher is asking anyone with information in connection with the robbery to contact the RNC. (CBC)

"Indications are that the male suspect with what is believed to be a bread knife — a serrated knife — demanded money and cigarettes from the store, from the lone store employee," said RNC Const. Scott Mosher.

No one was injured, but Mosher said the robber got away with some cash.

He added that despite help from the RNC's K-9 unit and the RCMP, police were unable to find the suspect.

The suspect was described as about six feet tall with a slim build.

He was last seen heading south on French's Road wearing a dark blue jacket, a dark hat and sunglasses.
