Police in St. John's are seeking witnesses to an assault with a weapon last weekend that sent a teenager to hospital.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in Bowring Park.

According to the RNC, the boy, 17, received multiple non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remained Friday.

Police did not specify the type of weapon used in the incident.
