Human remains found on Seal Cove trail, RNC investigating sudden death
Police say there is no concern for public safety at this time
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary say they are investigating a sudden death after the remains of a man were found on a walking trail in the Conception Bay South town of Seal Cove.
A heavy police presence was reported in an area near Daniel's Road Saturday afternoon. RNC said officers were canvassing the neighbourhood as part of their investigation.
Officers responded to a call of a sudden death around 12:30 p.m., according to an RNC statement. The body was discovered by someone who was walking in the area.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the man's death are not yet known, but officers are working with forensic units as well as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
According to the RNC, there is no concern for public safety at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
