A judicial recount of election results in a Newfoundland and Labradordistrict confirmed Thursday that Liberal Leader Gerry Reid lost his seat in the house of assembly.
The new member for the Isles of Notre Dame is Progressive Conservative Derrick Dalley.
Dalley won the seat in the Oct. 9 election by just seven votes, which triggered an automatic judicial recount.
Results of the recount, released Thursday, gave Dalley a margin of 12 votes.
A spokesman for Reid said he won't have anything to say about the results until next week. He said Reid is currently thinking about his political future.
On Tuesday, the PCs picked up a 44th seat in the 48-seat house of assembly, as Tory candidate Susan Sullivan defeated New Democrat Junior Downey and Liberal John Woodrow in a deferred election.
The Liberals were cut to a caucus of just three seats, while the NDP hold only one.
