The case of well-known Re/Max real estate agent David Norris, who is charged with 16 tax-related offences, was called in provincial court in St. John's on Wednesday.
The Canada Revenue Agency alleges Norris evaded $55,000 in taxes related to a series of false HST claims.
He is also charged with evading $16,000 in income tax in 2009 and 2010.
Norris has been a real estate agent in Newfoundland and Labrador since 1981.
His case is due back in provincial court in May.
