RCMP seize drugs, firearms in Grand Falls-Windsor

Police in central Newfoundland seized a quantity of drugs and firearms in Grand Falls-Windsor on Friday.

The RCMP executed two search warrants, one on a residence and the other on a business property, both located on Whitmore Street.

The two locations were related to the same investigation.

Police discovered a quantity of a substance believed to be marijuana, as well as marijuana plants and several firearms.

A 56-year-old man from Grand Falls-Windsor was arrested and later released to appear in court in November.

The man faces charges of production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited firearm, and careless use of a firearm.
