RCMP keeping mum about Felix Cove shooting
Police remain tight-lipped about a fatal shooting in Felix Cove — five months after a man was found dead inside a house in the west coast community.
The victim was found early on the morning of March 29.
The RCMP charged Jasmine Pittman, 20, of Stephenville with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
She had another court appearance scheduled for yesterday, but was not in court.
Her lawyer, Julia Smart, appeared on her behalf and said she's still waiting for hundreds of pages of documents in the case.
Pittman's next court date is set for Sept. 29.
After the shooting, the RCMP said in a statement that "a confrontation took place where weapons were used, which resulted in the fatal shooting of a male."
The police also stated that Pittman did not fire the shot that killed the man.
It is still unclear who fired the shot and how many people were involved.
The RCMP will only say the shooting is still under investigation.
