Quebec resident Frederic Theriault was safely located Thursday, after he had been reported missing after going for a walk on Tuesday. 

RCMP had said that Theriault, 23, who is travelling from Saguenay, had been staying at a home in Point May.Theriault had left the house "to go for a walk just before supper and did not return."

He was reported missing after midnight.

Two helicopters — one provided by Fire and Emergency Services and the other by the Canadian Coast Guard — were used Wednesday in an effort that also involved a ground search and rescue team.

Theriault was being assessed Thursday at a local hospital.
