Pynn denied bail
One of two men accused of murder in botched robbery
A man accused of murder in connection with a botched robbery attempt in St. John's has been denied bail.
Philip Pynn, 27, was charged after his longtime friend Nick Winsor, 20, was shot to death on July 9, 2011.
It happened in the backyard of a home on Portugal Cove Road.
Pynn was arrested two days after the shooting, and has been in custody ever since.
But his first attempt at bail was denied Friday by Supreme Court Justice Phonse Faour. There is a publication ban on the reasons for his decision.
Pynn's co-accused, 24-year-old Lyndon Butler, was granted bail in March 2012.
Both are scheduled to stand trial in November 2014.
