No one was hurt when a Purolator plane overshot the runway at the St. John's International Airport on Saturday morning.

Three people were on board when the plane went off the runway in rainy and foggy conditions.

The plane, travelling to St. John's from New Brunswick, received minor tire damage. Some airport infrastructure was damaged.

"We had some wiring that was pulled out by the aircraft as it went over the runway.  How much damage there is to the infrastructure, we're still investigating that," security director Bob Nurse said.

The plane's tires were also damaged, Nurse said.

The airport was closed for about an hour after the accident, the cause of which is still being investigated.
