St. John's NHLer Teddy Purcell traded to Florida Panthers
Teddy Purcell is heading back to the Sunshine State.
The 30-year-old St. John's native was part of a trade Saturday that saw him move from the Edmonton Oilers to the Florida Panthers in exchange for a third round draft pick.

It isn't Purcell's first stop in Florida, as he spent five seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning before being moved to Edmonton in 2014.
Miami Herald reporter George Richards broke the news of the deal on Saturday afternoon.
Richards tweeted that he believes the right winger will catch up with his new team in Winnipeg on Sunday.
I guess Jiri Hudler and Teddy Purcell meet #FlaPanthers in Winnipeg late Sun/early Mon. Question is whether either can play right away—@GeorgeRichards
Purcell has 11 goals and 32 points in 61 games this season.
Teddy Purcell played for #tbLightning but is a native of Newfoundland and played past two seasons in Edmonton. May have visa concerns too.—@GeorgeRichards
