Prohibited weapon seized during traffic stop
Police in St. John's put a young man behind bars after discovering a prohibited weapon in his car.
The driver, 20, was pulled over in downtown St. John's around 1:15 a.m. Friday.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is not saying what type of weapon was seized, but added that it was concealed.
The driver faces charges that include possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaching a court order.
He was being held for an appearance in provincial court on Friday.
