Close to a hundred residents of an assisted-living personal care home in St. John's were left in the cold and dark by Saturday's island-wide power outage.
Cambridge Estates lost its power on Saturday.
The private personal care home did not have a generator.
Family members were called to pick up residents.
Residents who did not have family were taken to the nearby Holiday Inn.
CBC News learned that some residents returned on Sunday afternoon after the power was restored, but the power has since gone out again at the home.
Simon Nyilassy, president and CEO of Regal Lifestyle Communities, the company which owns Cambridge Estates, said the company's vice-president of operations was travelling to St. John's Sunday to meet residents' families.
"There do seem to be more incidents of this, not just in St. John's, but in other areas," said Nyilassy.
"We can't just look to the past here and how things have worked in the past."
Nyilassy said the company will evaluate what has happened and decide whether to install generators or make further changes to the home's emergency plans.
"We need to look at what's best for our seniors," said Nyilassy.
