A woman had to be rescued after falling through the ice on a pond in Paradise on Thursday.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said they responded to Sanderling Place after receiving a call from the fire department around 1 p.m.

Police said crews used cold-water rescue equipment to pull the 44-year-old woman from Brazil's Pond, which is situated behind the cul de sac.

The RNC said the woman was cold and wet, but otherwise fine.
