Police officers descended on a store in downtown St. John's Wednesday night which calls itself a "herbal wellness centre."

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary confirmed that patrol officers and officers from the province's Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit were present at the store.

At least three officers left the building at about 10:15 p.m., carrying a cardboard box and two backpacks.

The branding on the outside of The Healing Tree in St. John's looks identical to that of a medical marijuana dispensary in Vancouver of the same name.
