A St. John's man who tried to evade the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary early Thursday spent the rest of the morning in the lockup.
The man, 29, sped off into Paradise after police attempted to stop him on the Outer Ring Road. From there, the man dumped the car and ran into the woods.
Police tracked him down around 12:35 a.m. with the help of a police dog.
On top of being charged with flight from police, dangerous driving and resisting arrest, the man was also issued tickets for having no licence, no insurance and not wearing a seatbelt.
He is also on federal parole.
The car was impounded and he is scheduled to appear in provincial court in St. John's on Thursday.
