Police called to Marystown OCI protest
Police were called in Monday morning to deal with a blockade by former Ocean Choice International workers outside the company's closed Marystown plant.
Police arrived on the scene just before noon.
About a hundred people protested outside the company's fish plant in Marystown, according to CBC reporter Martine Blue.
Former workers were reportedly blocking access to the plant and a tractor-trailer on the property.
The workers believe OCI is trying to remove equipment from the building.
Police ensured that OCI officials have unfettered access to the Marystown plant.
Earlier this month, RCMP officers were called after a similar incident at the entrance of the plant.
In mid-January, OCI won an injunction that allows it free access to its Marystown facility.
