Pedestrian, hotel hit up in St. John's robberies
Police do not believe that two armed robberies that happened in the same neighbourhood of central St. John's over an eight-hour period are connected.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said they got a call shortly after 6:30 p.m. from a man who reported being robbed near the St. John's Taxation Centre on Freshwater Road.
Police said the complainant reported that a man wielding a knife robbed him, and that the suspect was driving a green vehicle.
Around 2:15 a.m. Monday, two masked men entered the nearby Guv'nor Inn on Elizabeth Avenue and demanded cash from the employee on duty.
In both cases, the robbers got away with cash.
