The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a sudden death in a subdivision in Paradise.

The RNC said the body of a male was found in the area of Seascape Drive. The road is part of a newer subdivision where land has been cleared for homes.

Plainclothes officers were going door-to-door Monday afternoon in the subdivision, near an area that police marked off with tape.

The body was found in a gravelly area around 8:30 a.m.

The RNC said it cannot comment on the case until the cause of death is determined.

Forensics officers had arrived on the scene by mid-morning. The RNC also brought in a dog unit to aid in its investigation.
