Osmond wins first national skating championship

Marystown native Kaetlyn Osmond won her first national figure skating championship on Saturday night.

She won the national senior women's figure skating championship that took place in Mississauga, ON.

Osmond, 17, won the short program on Friday. On Saturday night, after skating to "Carmen," she took her place on the winner’s podium for her performance in the long program, with a total of 201.34 points.

She will be Canada's only entry in the world championships in March.
