The federal leader of the New Democrats was in studio for a feature interview about the future of the party in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Since Tom Mulcair's last visit to the Royal St. John's Regatta, a lot has changed for the provincial NDP.

With the defection of NDP MHAs to the Liberal Party and a loss of party popularity in recent polls, Mulcair talks about the party's goals - federally and provincially - in the next elections.

Also on this week's On Point, a panel discussion about why younger voters are not as interested in politics, and how to get them more engaged.

Emily Bonia, Devin Drover and Adam DuBourdieu were on this week's panel for the discussion.
