Former Newfoundland and Labrador premier Roger Grimes pulls no punches in his assessment of Frank Coleman's ascension to the eighth floor of Confederation Building.

"He seems like a very reluctant bride to me," Grimes, a former Liberal premier, tells On Point guest host Peter Cowan. "He seems like a person that doesn't want the job. He doesn't really want to go into the office.

"Go in there, take it over, bring in your people, get on with the job. I mean, he's supposed to be a smart, bright, intelligent, focused, energetic sincere person? Get in and show the people of the province that."

Tom Marshall will formally hand over the reins of power to Coleman during the PC Party's convention July 4-5.
