Part of the Trans-Canada Highway in western Newfoundland has reopened.

The offramp of Exit 12 at Pasadena collapsed after heavy rains in April. After months of construction, it's now open to traffic.

However, Exit 13 — on the same stretch of highway — will remain closed for at least another two months.

Road crews continue to repair weaknesses that were discovered during the repairs to Exit 12. While that happens, the eastbound lanes of the TCH will be used for both directions of traffic.

Speed limits vary in the area, between 50 and 80 km/h.
