Police are investigating two vehicle fires on the Northeast Avalon, one of which occurred in a long-term parking lot near St. John's International Airport.

Officers and firefighters were called to the scene on Craig Dobbin's Way shortly after midnight.

No one was injured in the fire, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said.

It was the second vehicle fire within 90 minutes to be reported to authorities. Around 10:40 p.m., the RNC and members of the Torbay fire department were called to a fire in the town.

In each incident, the RNC is asking for anyone with information to contact the force directly or to go through the anonymous Crime Stoppers service.
