Newfoundland NHLer Adam Pardy traded to Buffalo
Bonavista native Adam Pardy is on his way to Buffalo, after being acquired by the Sabres in a trade with the Dallas Stars on Monday.
Forward Steve Ott is also headed from Dallas to upstate New York, in exchange for center Derek Roy.
Pardy, 28, is entering his fifth NHL season. He spent three years with the Calgary Flames before joining Dallas in 2011-12.
The defenceman was selected by the Flames in the sixth round of the 2004 NHL draft.
In 183 career games, Pardy has 29 points (including four goals) and 157 penalty minutes.
The Sabres website described the trade as adding "some much needed sandpaper" to the team’s lineup.
Pardy joins fellow Newfoundlander Luke Adam in the Buffalo organization.
