The New Democratic Party in Newfoundland and Labrador will vote this weekend to select a candidate for the byelection in Labrador after MP Peter Penashue resigned.
Penashue decided to resign because of the many spending irregularities in his 2011 election campaign.
He is looking for a second chance at the federal seat and has been endorsed as the Conservative candidate.
There are two people who want to run as the NDP candidate - Harry Borlase, of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and Mike Goosney, a town councillor in Labrador City.
Members will vote online starting Saturday night and an announcement will be made at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Yvonne Jones announced last week that she would be seeking the Liberal nomination, but the Liberals have yet to decide on a candidate.
Former Liberal MP Todd Russell will announce whether he will be running against Jones for the nomination on the Labrador Morning Show on CBC Radio One on Monday at 7:45 a.m. Labrador time.
The prime minister could call the byelection for as early as May 6.
