A report released on Tuesday by the Conference Board of Canada says people in Newfoundland and Labrador buy more beer than anywhere in Canada except for Yukon.
The Conference Board said people in the province bought nearly 300 bottles of beer each in 2012.
The board has warned that the numbers may be skewed by seasonal workers and tourists.
The report said the beer industry supports 163,000 Canadian jobs and brings in $5.8 billion tax dollars for the three levels of government.
