N.L. drops the H on new licence plates
It took more than 15 years, but licence plates in Newfoundland and Labrador are moving from starting with the letter H, to the letter J.
The Motor Registration Division of Service NL says the J series plates will start to appear on new vehicles later this month.
The H series of plates has been in use since 1997. After 482,520 plates, Motor Registration has finally run out.
The letter I was skipped in the alphabet because of its resemblance to the number one.
