Mount Pearl’s mayor vows the city will fight graffiti.
Randy Simms describes the work of graffiti artists as an "eyesore."
He says graffiti is vandalism and the culprits will be caught.
"We are on a mission to catch them. In Mount Pearl this year, we brought in 12 closed-circuit TV cameras, and we put up signs to warn people this is under surveillance, and be warned. This might be one of the spots and we're going to get you," says Simms.
Three young men appeared in court Monday, charged with damaging property in connection with graffiti in the northeast Avalon area.
