A 15-year-old Mount Pearl boy faces a half-dozen charges after a break-in on Wednesday night.

The teen tried to flee the scene, but police officers caught up with him near a house on Sunrise Ave. and arrested him.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the teen had in his possession some things that had been stolen earlier from a shed in the neighbourhood.

The boy did not want to go quietly with police, and now faces charges for resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

The RNC said he was also carrying a knife.

He was detained for court.
