People in the Gambo area are being warned to watch out for black bears.

There have been sightings in and around the towns of Hare Bay, Indian Bay, Traytown and Glovertown.

Department of Natural Resources conservation officers recently caught one black bear in Traytown, and relocated the animal to a remote area.

Officers are asking people to properly store and dispose of their garbage.

Central Newfoundland has experienced a significant increase in bear activity in the past year.
