Moose given one-way fare to wilderness after airport jaunt
A moose found itself taking a trip on Sunday night after getting too close to St. John's International Airport.
The animal did not make it onto the airport property itself, but it became trapped in a fenced area after crossing the airport access road around 9 p.m.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said wildlife officers tranquilized the moose and took it to the Paddy's Pond area, where it was released.
Airport operations were not affected.
