Missing Labrador snowmobiler found
The RCMP in Hopedale have confirmed that missing snowmobiler Michel Rich, 52, has been found.
Rich, who had been missing since Saturday, is reported to be in good condition.
The RCMP attribute a Dash 8 aircraft to locating Rich.
Earlier Monday, searchers recovered a komatik, or sled, that they believed belonged to the missing snowmobiler in Labrador.
Rich was headed to Natuashish by snowmobile when he went missing on the weekend.
Two small teams of local volunteers from Hopedale — which is located between Sheshatshiu and Natuashish — travelled between the northern communities to search for him.
Rich's komatik was eventually found north of Hopedale.
The RCMP say two airplanes — a Dash 8 and an RCMP plane — along with Cormorant and Griffon helicopters and ground crews were used in the search for Rich.
