A man from Glovertown was safely located on Friday morning after spending an unexpected night in the woods.

On Thursday evening, the RCMP received a report of a missing hunter in the valley south of North West Arm.

The man had been out hunting with a friend, but they became separated.

Police and a search and rescue team assisted and found the man's ATV approximately eight kilometres north of the Trans-Canada Highway.

The search had to be delayed until the next day, due to darkness.

The man was found on Friday morning at the third grid pass. A helicopter, a number of ATVs and two ground teams were involved in the search.

Police said he had built a shelter, was not injured and was in good spirits.
