Meth pills, marijuana found in Stephenville drug bust
The RCMP said a search of a vehicle in Stephenville has turned up 11 pounds of marijuana and 866 methamphetamine tablets, commonly known as 'ice.'
Police stopped a Drummondville, Quebec man Tuesday afternoon in a hotel parking lot in the town.
Ice is a slang name used to describe crystal methamphetamines because of its resemblance to ice crystals.
The accused, 24, appeared in provincial court Wednesday and was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.
Police said the man will remain in custody until he makes bail.
RCMP have scheduled a media briefing on Thursday morning to further discuss the drug bust.
