Mental health touted as swimmers cross the Tickle
Ten people swam from Bell Island to Portugal Cove on Thursday, to raise money for the Canadian Mental Health Association's Newfoundland and Labrador division.
The annual swim covers a five-kilometre gap known locally as the Tickle, which is normally traversed by ferries. The swimmers were accompanied by kayakers and three safety boats.
The campaign this year has raised $8,000 so far.
