The provincial and federal governments have announced $12 million in funding for a new recreation centre in Marystown.
The 3,035-square metre centre will house a swimming pool, multi-purpose meeting rooms, a gym and an indoor walking track.
The centre will serve all residents and communities around the Burin Peninsula.
The province has committed almost $9.8 million and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency has agreed to contribute more than $2.4 million.
Marystown will also contribute about $2.5 million to the project.
The recreation centre is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2016.
