Three people were arrested, and one person was brought to hospital, following a brawl in Marystown that involved wrenches and a baseball bat. 

RCMP were called to a disturbance on Ville Marie Drive at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday where they discovered five men involved in a fight.

Sgt. Howard Gale said four men sustained various injuries, one of whom was brought to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre with serious facial injuries.

The other three men were treated in hospital and released.

Two of the men arrested, aged 27 and 30, are from Marystown. Police said an 18-year-old man from Mortier was also arrested.

They face several charges including assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

The men were released on undertakings and are scheduled to make an appearance in provincial court in Grand Bank on July 30.
