Marlies edge IceCaps 3-2
Toronto holds off St. John's comeback to take first of two weekend games
While a two-goal third period drew the St. John's IceCaps to within a goal of tying things up, the Toronto Marlies held on to edge the IceCaps 3-2 Friday night at Mile One Centre.
Kael Mouillierat and Andrew Gordon, leading the third-period comeback for St. John's, scored for the IceCaps.
Eddie Pasquale stopped 34-of-37 in a losing effort.
Sam Carrick scored the game-winner, while Petter Granberg and Peter Holland potted the other tallies for the Marlies. Drew MacIntyre turned aside 27 shots to earn the victory.
The IceCaps play the Marlies to even the score Saturday night at Mile One. Puck drop is 7:30.
