Improving weather conditions allowed Marine Atlantic to restore ferry service Friday on the Cabot Strait.
Three vessels were tied up for a day because of high winds in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The MV Blue Puttees left Port aux Basques around 4 a.m. Friday for North Sydney, while the MV Highlanders was expected in Port aux Basques around 8:30 am.
The MV Leif Ericson, which carries commercial traffic, also returned to service.
The MV Atlantic Vision remained on the run between North Sydney and Argentia run and was not affected by the turbulent weather in the Gulf.
