A man with an outstanding warrant for his arrest was picked up by police early Saturday in St. John's.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested the 22-year-old in the downtown area around 4 a.m. and charged him with a number of offences.

Those charges include carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstructing a police officer and several breaches of court orders. 

The man was held in custody pending a court appearance Saturday morning.
