A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant will make a weekend court appearance in St. John's.
At 2:20 a.m. Saturday, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary conducted a traffic safety stop in the area of Topsail and determined the identity of the man, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
The accused engaged in a struggle with police, which then resulted in a foot chase.
With the assistance of the RNC's K-9 Unit, he was arrested a short time later.
The man is facing additional charges of public mischief, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.
