A man died in a single vehicle crash Sunday morning on Route 410 on the northeast coast of Newfoundland.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said they arrived at the scene of the collision at 9:30 a.m.

They found the vehicle upside down in water, about 25 kilometres south of the town of Baie Verte.

Police said the male driver, who was originally from Baie Verte, was removed from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim had been living in the St. John's area.

The RCMP's traffic investigators are looking into the cause of the crash.

The name of the driver has not yet been released.
