Logy Bay man pleads guilty to profiting from crime
A man from Logy Bay who made his living off the drug trade pleaded guilty in a provincial courtroom Tuesday.
Police seized $281,000 from Michael Kavanagh's home on Middle Cove Road in 2009.
The court was told that the money came directly, or indirectly, from the sale of drugs. It will now be forfeited to the Crown.
Kavanagh, 34, also admitted he used another $63,000 to renovate his house, and will have to pay that back as a fine.
Kavanagh was sentenced to two years house arrest.
